"We Have a Nation Security Issue Here"

Rep. Gene Green, D-Houston was quoted as saying to day in the mark-up meeting of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. The debate was sparked as a result of Rep Diana DeGette's, D-Co trying to add her amendment to H.R. 5320. Her amendment would require Hydraulic Fracturing Service Providers disclose to the state, or the Administrator the chemical constituents (but not the proprietary chemical formulas) used in each fracturing process.

Chairman Henry Waxman D-Ca was quoted as saying “I would ask that you withdraw the amendment at this time….Now is not the right time for this change.” Not only did DeGette probably not have the votes, but it would have wrecked a compromise between Chairman Waxman, and committee Republicans on the legislation (H.R. 5320) commonly referred to as the AQUA Act of 2010.

In the DMN reporter Dave Michaels’ article from today said that even when Mr. Waxman ask her to withdraw the amendment, it started a heated debate . The Texas delegation, in particular was candid about their dislike of her proposed amendment.

The Texas Republicans saying that it (her amendment) would open the door to unnecessary federal control of natural gas development. This comes at a time when oil and gas exploration and production are providing high paying jobs and generating tax revenues that the state of Texas is absolutely dependant on right now.

Rep Joe Barton, R- Arlington went on to say “My concern is if it were to be passed, it would give the EPA for the first time a regulatory foothold. And I do not think that is good public policy for the United States.”

Rep. Gene Green, D-Houston said “We have now 100 years of natural gas available in our country – clean burning natural gas that will help us with carbon control. If we eliminate hydraulic fracing, we will lose those 100 years (of gas). We have a national security issue here.”

In my opinion, Flower Mound with it’s newly elected cast of characters, seems hell bent on going against the majority of the state of elected officials in Texas, members of congress, both republican and democrats. And above all, they seem perfectly fine sending young men and women in uniform to fight and die for the right to import foreign oil products. We are blessed here in North Texas with the Barnett Shale, it’s not out in the country, it is where it is, and a good reserve of it happens to lie under Flower Mound.

We should all do our part like Arlington, Burleson, Fort Worth, and so on and allow the mineral owners to recover their interest with as little burden as possible. That’s one mans opinion.

Oil and Gas Board Renders a Gut-less Verdict!

I would like to apologize to my friends for my late night/early morning rant. I am human, and a native Texan and can only take so much from the socialist, communist, environmental wacko zealot community.

I am particularly appalled by the fact that a majority of these people come from states that they have screwed up and now they want to screw up our state. The unfair and dis-respectful treatment of Mr. Hilliard was a down right disgrace.

I would also like to point out Ms Stephens lashing out at our Fire Chief Mike Smith was another outrageous disgrace not only on her, but the board as well. Someone needs to take her to the wood shed and give her some instruction as to how to behave. Mike Smith and the Flower Mound Fire Department have a stellar record of service and are to be commended for their bravery, and sacrifice. To be berated by some less than intelligent whack job is an insult.

I still thank god that I live in the state of Texas, where Oil and Gas are King. I know the law is on our side. I am looking forward to the day when Mr. Hilliard and 1,600 hundred mineral estate owners file "takings" suits against the town of Flower Mound. I think when they are awarded half a billion dollars it will get the attention of the rest of the towns people and there will be a revolt against the anti-drilling zealots and their leadership. I don't see them staying in office very long.

Haste la vista NFL, but I'll be back...................

Test Show No Gas Drilling Contamination In Dish Residence!

As it turns out, the exploitation of Dish, Tx appears to be a well orchestrated plan to scam big oil and gas out of hard earned profits.  Sharon Wilson aka TXSharon, crazy as always, continues to post the laughable "Health Survey Results" from a study commissioned by the town of Dish performed by Earthworks "Super Genius" Wilma Subra and engineer wannabe and "not a PhD" Alisa Rich.  All of which has been completely proved to be false, not accurate,a possible hoax, and basically a down right "lie".

Our good friend Ed Ireland, Executive Director of the Barnett Shale Energy Education Council was quoted in a Star-Telegram piece posted Wednesday 5/12/10 titled "Tests Show No Gas Drilling Contamination in Dish Residence".  Here's what Ed Ireland said about the DISH health study:

“The state has provided answers that can unequivocally assure residents of Dish and the Barnett Shale-area-at-large of the safety of natural gas operations in the region and eliminate concerns about benzene levels in their air and blood,”

Sharon Wilson posted on her blog that  "Ed Ireland is NOT a scientist."  He may not be a scientist but he does holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Texas Tech University and was formerly a professor and head of the Department of Economics at Clemson University. His career includes 20 years in the oil and gas industry in Houston, Tex. That's more than I can say for some of Sharon Wilson's "So Called Experts & Scientist".  It's clear to most normal intelligent people that Wilma Subra aka "Super Brain?" and "Engineer Air Quality Expert PhD (NOT)" Alisa Rich are armatures and hacks.  They might want to re-locate into the witness protection program and start new lives.  It's amazing that liberal extremest organizations like "Earthworks", Texas Oil & Gas Accountability Project and Fort Worth CANDO haven't drop these clowns like hot potato's.  Texas Oil & Gas Accountability Project members should be demanding their donations back and asking that their board of directors be held accountable for supporting and commissioning projects done by these hacks.

The good new is that for the month of April 2010 the AutoGC located at Dish Airfield that is a continuous monitor 24/7, the air quality results for the VOC Benzene was only an avg. of 0.13 ppb, Max was 0.58 ppb.  The TCEQ ESL limits for that time frame are 180 ppb.  So as you can see Dish was no ware near 180.  Actually out of the 4 AutoGC stations in the Metroplex, Dish was the 2nd best air quality.  The worst was Dallas Hinton St. and there is not a gas well in Dallas.

Also; the Texas Dept of Health Services released its "Final Report on Dish, TX" yesterday and concluded that the chemicals found in the residents were normal, and in line with the general population in the US.

Well, I guess there goes the big law suit Tillman and his ilk were trying to grab onto.  Next time you might want to actually use real credentialed credible people to do your investigating instead of environmental crazy zealots who are just nuts.

Check back, as I have more to say on this issue.  Some big bad things are getting ready to happen to some big mouth people who have been acting like dumb-asses.  Good Luck.............

Flower Mound Petition Discovered to be Back Door Scam!

All through the town council meeting on Monday night one after the other, those in support of the “Flower Mound Petition Group’s” petition went to the podium and said we are not against drilling, we just want to take a look at the CCF regulations. Like mind numbed robots, one after the other the same thing, we are not against drilling. This petition will not have any effect on drilling operations on-going. There is also not a moratorium against gas well permits, they would say. They even appeared to be genuine in their arguments.
Melissa Northern, Al Filidoro, and Steve Lyda all have stated that they were for the petition and the moratorium but that they were not against drilling.

The question is were they in on the little lie that the petition group has been telling residents since the middle of Feb 2010 when they started their group. The little lie they have been telling everyone including the people who signed the petition was that the petition would not affect gas well permits, or drilling activity in Flower Mound. Well guess what? Their petition would indeed have a serious affect on Gas Well Permits, Drilling Operations, and the value of leases of those who own their mineral rights, but have not yet leased them. And here is how it was all to work:

FACTS: Yes, you could still get a Gas Well Permit under their petitions’ moratorium. However; without a pipeline permit your gas well is useless because you cannot get the gas from the well to the transport pipeline in order to bring the gas to market and sell it.

HERES HOW IT WAS GOING TO WORK:

1. The petition that was being considered called for a 180 day moratorium on the acceptance and processing of applications for any permit for an oil and gas pipeline to be issued pursuant to Section 34-454(a).

SECTION 2 (of the petition ordinance) had it passed.

(a) The acceptance and processing of application for OIL AND GAS AND/OR PRODUCED WATER pipeline permits pursuant to the provisions of Sec. 34-454 of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Flower Mound are hereby temporarily suspended, effective immediately upon passage of this Ordinance.

NEXT FROM THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF FLOWE MOUND
Town of Flower Mound Article VIII Oil & Gas Pipeline Standards

Sec. 34-454. General requirements and minimum design standards.

(a) An oil and gas pipeline permit is required as follows:

(1) It shall be unlawful for any person, acting either for himself or as an agent, employee, independent contractor or servant of any other person, to commence to construct, install, operate or reconstruct a pipeline or any section of a pipeline or to operate any pipeline or to assist in the construction, installation, operation or reconstruction of a pipeline if a lawful oil and gas pipeline permit has not been obtained.

(2) Any applications to construct, lay, rework, wrap or otherwise lower or replace existing pipelines or install monitoring or recovery wells shall be submitted to the town in a form prescribed by the town.

(3) Each application for an oil and gas pipeline permit shall be accompanied by five sets of plans showing the dimensions and locations of the pipelines and related items or facilities within the subject right-of-way or easement, as well as all proposed lift stations, pumps or other services structures related to such pipeline and the location, type and size of all existing utilities, drainage, right-of-way and roadway improvements.

(4) Within 15 days after the date of filing of said application and plans, the town shall send notice to the applicant as to whether the application will be accepted for processing and the total charge due. If the application is rejected, reasons for rejection of the application shall be provided in writing.

IN SUMMARY:

So, as you can clearly see, the petition if enacted would have stopped drilling activities in Flower Mound. Sure a company could have applied for and received a "Drilling Permit", but who is going to invest in a drilling permit without being able to get a pipeline permit to pipe the gas from the well head to the transport pipeline in order to bring the gas to market. And thus, no company would invest in drilling activities until they were able to get a pipeline permit.

The permits are separate. You apply for one permit to drill, and another for pipelines. And clearly in the petition it listed "Oil & Gas Pipelines Permits". Even though a company has an permitted pad site, and 1 or 2 gas well permits and oil and gas pipeline permits, if the petition had passed, when the company went to get it’s next 2 gas well permits, that would not have been a problem. However; the next 2 pipeline permits would have been included in the moratorium and would not be issued. In addition; an existing well requiring a new or upgrade pipeline would also be denied because of the moratorium. In the oil and gas business you cannot conduct business without pipelines. As a matter of fact, one of the very first gas wells drilled in Flower Mound way back in 1995 by Llano, had to be shut-in because they were not able to get a pipeline to the Atmos pipeline connection and went unused until Williams bought it from them sometime around 2003 or 2004.

It’s clear that this was a back door attempt to stop drilling in Flower Mound. The question is did they know and who was behind the whole scam? I wonder if any of the local media with pick up this and start asking questions. I hope they do because I for one would like to know.

New Air Test Result?

That's right, showing no shame whatsoever, fraud, lier, and admitted anti-gas drilling, non-PhD holding, non engineer, and down right shameless Alisa Rich and her band of out of state anti-drilling zealots are trying to sell "Toxic Methane Plumes" again.  Anyone who would take these people seriously needs to have their heads examined.  Alisa Rich, Wilma Subra, and full blown leftist socialist Sharon Wilson in a pitiful display to effect the local election in Flower Mound have reached rock bottom.

Any legitimate news organization that picks up this story should have their doors closed by their shareholders.  They should then re-open as a "Nation Inquirer" type of tabloid organization.  These reports are about as trust worthy as asking OJ Simpson, or Jeffery Dahmer to baby sit for your kids.

The TCEQ's AutoGC in Dish, Tx has shown that the air quality is not bad at all.  In fact, it's pretty good.  The only reports worthy of reading, or giving any credibility to are from the TCEQ, and good companies like Kleinfelder Central, and W & M Environmental, all of which have conducted air quality studies in Flower Mound with results that showed benzene levels well below the state's short-term and long-term screening levels.

Ask yourself this question, who do you trust?  Your own Texas State Commission on Environmental Quality, the EPA, and respected and certified private companies, or a bunch of out of state granola eating, energy hating, Texas hating, left wing socialist environmental zealots that believe we should all be beholden to them to guide our way of life?  I don't know about you, but I'll stick with the state of Texas.
